Broccoli Salad



This is a delicious side dish, a crowd favorite at potlucks and picnics and the perfect food to keep in the refrigerator for a light snack!

In a large bowl combine: 
6 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 can (8 oz) sliced water chesnuts, drained
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup chopped red onion
In a small bowl whisk together
3/4 cup mayo
3/4 cup yogurt
1 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp dijon mustard
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Pour liquid mix over broccoli and toss to coat.

Just before serving, sprinkle with 1/4 cup slivered almonds if desired

Alternate version....everything is the same except for using raisins instead of dried cranberries.  The dressing however is 
1 cup miracle whip
1 tbs vinegar
1/3 cup sugar
